Vanessa Crawford, Brianne Deschamps, and Mark MacDonald were killed when MacDonald's SUV collided with an OC Transpo bus January 23.
Two other students in the vehicle were injured in the crash. Passenger Ben Gardiner was sent to hospital with critical injuries while MacDonald's 19-year-old girlfriend was released from hospital shortly after the crash.
The university will host an on-campus memorial service Monday at 11 a.m. in Fenn Lounge. Reverend Tom Sherwood, Carleton' chaplain, will speak words of remembrance and students will have the chance to share memories of the lives lost. Condolence books will also be available to sign.
The OC Transpo bus was travelling northbound on Riverside Drive close to 2 a.m. and the SUV was travelling westbound on Heron Road when the crash occurred.
The driver of the bus, who was treated at the scene for minor injuries, told investigators he had a green light as he headed through this intersection.
After colliding with the SUV, the bus careened into a traffic light. Police pointed out that Riverside Drive and Huron Road is one of the city's most accident-prone intersections.
