The Ottawa Senators are still alive in the playoff race as they pulled out a nail bitter beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in overtime.

The Ottawa Senators opened the scoring 5 minutes into the game as Mark Stone scores his 20th goal of the season. The Lightning tie it up with 3 minutes left in the period on the power play, as Jonathan Drouin beats Andrew Hammond top shelf.

Jean Gabriel-Pageau would leave the game late in the 2nd period after being hit knee on knee by Steve Stamkos. Pageau left the ice but returned in the 3rd period.

It would head into overtime and with the time winding down Patrick Wiercioch scores the overtime winner for a 2-1 final.

The Bruins were also winners, as the Senators remain 3 points back of the final playoff spot in the East.

Senators Goalie Andrew Hammond made NHL history winning 16 of his first 18 starts.

The Senators next host the Washington Capitals Saturday.
