Controversy is hitting social media sites concerning Madonna’s concert at Scotiabank Place Monday night.

Tweets sent to CTV’s twitter account reads: the show was “brutal,” “unacceptable” and “violent” while others tweet the performance as “epic,” “rocking,” and “stunning.”

Madonna hit the stage of the sold-out show 2.5 hours later than expected for her MDNA tour. Many fans didn’t seem to care.

“I love Madonna. I had all her posters in my room,” said one fan.”I had a girlfriend who dressed like Madonna all through high school. I have always wanted to see her so it’s really exciting.”

“When you listen to Madonna you feel like no one can stomp you down,” said another. “It’s like reliving my youth.”

For younger fans, it was an opportunity to see the music icon live for the first time.

Ten-year-old, Brody Bland, came all the way from New Brunswick to see Madonna. He says it’s dream come true.

“I’m going to scream as loud as I can to all of her songs,” said Bland.

One of her biggest hits, “Express Yourself,” won over the crowd.

“Madonna has always been a champion of womens’ rights and gay rights and we’re very supportive of her in return. She’s the queen right on sister.”

Madonna will take her tour to Toronto later this week.
