Four dead in West Quebec Crash

Quebec Provincial Police have released the names of four family members killed Wednesday in a head on crash north of Maniwaki. The family was driving along Hwy 117 from the Abitibi Region to their home in Longeuil, Quebec when the crash happened. The family is identified as Danny Lambert, 36, Stephanie Lavallee, 29, Mya Lambert Duchesne, 7, and Emy Rose Lambert, 2.
The next of kin have been notified.
Sgt. Marc Tessier says the road conditions were icy and slushy at the time of the collision. It appears as though the driver, Danny Lambert was attempting to pass another vehicle and lost control, slamming head-on into the pickup truck
The driver of the pickup truck is in hospital in Mont Laurier, in serious but stable condition.
Alcohol is not suspected.
Police say Highway 117 has reopened in both directions.
