Firefighters were busy Sunday morning battling three different area fires.
Crews were on the scene of a fire at 639 Somerset Street West in Chinatown around 11 a.m Sunday morning. The same building houses the Ju Xiang Yung Chinese Restaurant.
Two people are homeless after a basement fire at 2916 Mer Bleue Road. It happened just after 7 a.m. Two people were evacuated . The cause has not been determined.
Residents at a multi-unit complex at 237 Loretta Avenue South had to be evacuated after a fire broke out just after 5 am Sunday. When crews arrived, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the building. OC Transpo supplied a bus to transport the evacuees. No injuries have been reported. Investigators are trying to determine the cause.
