OTTAWA - The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection to a series of recent retail robberies.
- On March 27, 2014, at approximately 1:50 am, a lone male entered a convenience store situated along the 800 block of Meadowlands Drive. The suspect produced a knife and made a demand for money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
- On March 28, 2014, at approximately 4:09 pm, a lone male entered a gas station kiosk situated along the 1300 block of Prince of Wales Drive. Again the suspect produced a knife and made a demand for money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
- On March 28, 2014, at approximately 6:15 pm, a lone male entered a convenience store situated along the 700 block of Baseline Road. The suspect armed with a knife made a demand for money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
- On March 29, 2014, at approximately 9:20 am, a lone male entered a gas station kiosk situated along the 1400 block of Prince of Wales Drive. The suspect who was armed with a knife made a demand for money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
There were no injuries in any of the robberies.
A suspect was arrested the evening of March 29, 2014 in the Meadowlands Drive area by West Neighbourhood Officers.
Danny Bentivoglio, age 35 of Ottawa, is charged with the following:
- 4 counts of robbery
- 4 counts assault with a weapon
- 4 counts carry a concealed weapon
- 4 counts possession of a weapon in commission of offence
- 1 count utter threats
- 1 count wear disguise
Mr. Bentivoglio appeared in court on March 30, 2014. He appears in court next on April 3, 2014.
