Ottawa Police have identified the victims from a fatal crash near 2847 March Road in Carp just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016.
69-year-old Douglas Foster and his 66-year-old wife Joan died in the collision. They're both from Renfrew. He built homes and she was a hairdresser who just retired in May. The Foster family says the couple was a pillar for their family and community.
"We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken at the sudden loss of Joan and Doug. Together they were a pillar for our families and the community.
They will be missed and remembered by many as small business owners who served their community with warmth, hard work and integrity. Our family already misses the kindness, the humor, faith and love they exemplified as parents, grandparents and siblings which will always remain with us as an example and inspiration. Our family is concerned for the young man in the other car. Our prayers are with him right now. -- The Foster Family"
The 24-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries. He's in stable condition.
Investigators are calling on anyone who was at the scene of the crash to contact them.
