BELLEVILLE, Ont. -- A teenager is facing charges in connection with extra security measures being implemented at a Belleville, Ont., high school.

Saint Theresa Catholic Secondary School was put on "hold and secure" for several hours Tuesday but police and school board officials wouldn't comment at the time on the reason for the action.

The hold and secure was lifted after a suspect was arrested.

Police say an 18-year-old man has been charged with three counts of uttering threats in connection with postings made on Facebook.

It's alleged the threats were directed toward family members and staff at the school.

No name was released.
