WINCHESTER, Ont. -- Provincial police say the discovery of human remains near Winchester is now being treated as a homicide.

An autopsy has revealed that the remains are those of an adult male and police believe he met with foul play.

However, the OPP says further forensic testing is required to identify the man, and no additional information will be released at this time.

Two people walking northeast of the town made the discovery last week.

Sgt. Kristine Rae had earlier said no one from the immediate area was known to be missing or unaccounted for.
