The Ottawa Hospital will be locking all external doors at the Civic and General campuses from 10 pm to 5 am starting March 2, 2015.
The only entrances open to the public overnight will be the emergency departments and main doors.
A memo to hospital staff states these new restricted measures will be in place to "improve the safety of patients, visitors and staff.
At the Civic campus, The Patterson Entrance, across the lobby from the Main entrance facing Carling Avenue, will also be open overnight.
