Ottawa police are on the hunt for a gold or tan vehicle after a 44-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run in Ottawa's west end Thursday morning.
Police say the vehicle, which is believed to be a Buick Regal or Century model, failed to remain at the scene of the crash which occurred near the intersection of Woodroffe Avenue and Richmond Road just before 5:30 a.m.
Paramedics say the male motorcyclist was unresponsive when emergency workers arrived at the scene.
He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
His name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The intersection and both exit ramps from the Ottawa River Parkway to Woodroffe Avenue were closed until about midday while police investigated.
