Jonathan Pitre is now preparing to undergo a second stem cell transplant.
The Russell, Ont. teen found out on Monday that the first transplant operation at a hospital in Minneapolis failed.
Jonathan had received donor cells from his mother Tina Boileau.
Boileau tells us Jonathan will do what is necessary for a second procedure to help improve his life.
It could be between three to six months before a second transplant is attempted.
