The Canada Food and Inspection Agency has recalled several Silk and Great Value brand plant-based refrigerated beverages due to listeria concerns.

The bacteria can cause listeriosis and lead to severe illness.

Jeff Farber is an adjunct food science professor at the University of Guelph.
