The federal government has announced job cuts at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa.
Seventeen staff members were given lay-off notices this week.
Museum management said the cuts are necessary to help the government meet a $1 million deficit target.
The cuts are part of a larger plan by the Harper Government to trim up to ten percent from all government department budgets.
