Canada's latest fallen soldier will be laid to rest in Ottawa on Monday.
Sapper Sean Greenfield, 25, was killed when the light-armoured vehicle he was travelling in hit a roadside bomb on Jan. 31.
The young soldier, who was remembered for his infectious smile, was based out of CFB Petawawa, a tight-knit military community where he grew up.
Family and friends are expected to pack a funeral service for Greenfield at the Roman Catholic Chapel in Petawawa at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
A private ceremony will follow at Beechwood National Military Cemetary in Ottawa on Monday at 2 p.m.
Greenfield is the eleventh Canadian soldier killed since December. Since 2002, 108 Canadian soldiers have died while serving in Afghanistan.
