Mayor Larry O'Brien has accepted the resignation of one of his senior staffers after the staffer called into a radio talk show this morning pretending to be a resident named 'Tom.'
David Gibbons, a special assistant to the mayor, submitted his resignation after the mayor confirmed to reporters that one of his staffers called into a CFRA radio call-in show.
The caller was one of few callers to endorse the mayor's $50 snow surcharge proposal.
O'Brien sent an e-mail to city staffers just after 2 p.m. to notify them of Gibbons' resignation.
"It is with deep regret that this afternoon I have accepted the resignation of David Gibbons. He has shown loyalty as a member of the Mayor's office and I wish him well in the future," read the mayor's message.
