OTTAWA -- Fire officials have lifted the burn ban in the city of Ottawa.
The burn ban had been in effect since April 1 due to dry surface conditions.
Firefighters have responded to at least 19 major brush fires in the past month, despite the ban.
Officials issued a reminder on Wednesday that Ottawa residents must obtain permits to have open-air fires.
