Budget shortfall expected at OC Transpo

OC Transpo is predicting a $4.7 million revenue shortfall this year.

The bus company says a fare hike, an early spring, a warm summer and lower than expected gasoline prices are all contributing factors.

The forecast though isn't all gloomy.

Reductions in the overall cost to run the service also means millions were saved.

Transit officials say the company may only be out $174,000.
