Following a Friday incident that saw gunfire on Gore Private, Ottawa police have laid two counts of attempted murder charges against a 22-year-old in relation to the incident. He will appear in court Sunday.
Police said they were in the east-end neighbourhood just before midnight when an Ottawa man began running away from them, firing a shot at the officers. Two men were arrested at the scene, and a firearm also recovered.
Bahroz Manafi faces the following charges:
- two counts of attempted murder;
- two counts of discharging firearm with an intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest;
- two counts of assaulting a peace office with a weapon;
- numerous firearms charges;
- six counts of breach of probation.
The Ottawa police guns and gangs unit is investigating the incident.
