Gatineau Police have arrested two men they say are connected to a string of 30 car break-ins in Gatineau.

Police were called to Chambord Street, north of Autoroute 50 in Gatineau, around 1:30 a.m. Thursday after a report of a car break-in.

The first suspect, a 19-year-old Gatineau man, was arrested on scene. The second suspect, a 22 year-old Cantley man, was arrested a short while later. Police say the man fled the scene by car.

Police say the suspect's getaway car was filled with a number of objects, many that were believed to have been stolen during other car break-ins.

The 19 year-old suspect was arrested on a promise to appear, while the 22 year-old was scheduled to appear before a Quebec court today. Both will face charges of breaking and entering, and possession of stolen property.

Police allege the two men were involved in about 30 other car break-ins this week. Police say most of the stolen valuables, including electronics, have been recovered.

Gatineau police are reminding residents to lock their car doors, and to leave valuables out of plain sight.
