Many Quebecers have joined a Facebook page saying they will protest a new Hydro-Quebec increase.
More than 100,000 people are expected to take part in a voluntary "black-out" scheduled tonight between 7 and 8 o'clock. According to the Facebook page, protestors are being asked to turn off their central breakers for that one hour period.
The users are protesting a %2.9 per cent rate hike that comes into effect today.
Hydro has cited the cost of buying power from new wind farms as one reason for the hike.
