Ottawa Police have released a clear image of a man wanted for a west Ottawa bank robbery.

A man walked into a bank in the 100 block of Richmond Road Tuesday.  Witnesses say he was armed with a black handgun. He asked for cash, and fled on foot. It's believed he fled to a green pickup truck parked on a nearby street.

He left the bank with an anti-theft device called a dye-pack, designed to detonate red ink as a suspect leaves the bank. The man may have red dye on his clothes, Police say.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 185cm, short hair, clean shaven.  At the time he wore a dark coloured coat, possibly leather, jeans, and a dark baseball cap.  The suspect carried a large military style, green camouflage backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa Police.
