Ottawa police say they’re involved in tracking down an area mother who hasn’t been heard of since landing in Los Angeles.

Sarah-Jane Stavenow flew out of Ottawa for Los Angeles on Friday, telling her mother she was on the way to a job interview for an unspecified company.

According to the Facebook group “Please help find Sarah-Jane Stavenow!!!”, she was supposed to contact her fiancé when she arrived at her hotel but never checked in, hasn’t used her credit card and didn’t get on her flight home.

Stavenow’s family said the 26-year-old grew up in Arnprior but was living in Ottawa with her fiancé and seven-year-old son at the time she disappeared.

Her fiancé told CTV Ottawa that he's "distraught" over the situation.

Los Angeles police are involved in the investigation as well.
