Police are asking witnesses to come forward after a 31-year-old woman was struck and killed by a dump truck after she got off an OC Transpo bus in rural east Ottawa.
Paramedics found the woman without vital signs when they arrived at Navan Road and Orleans Boulevard just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The woman was treated for critical head injuries, as well as fractures to her legs and one of her arms. Although she was rushed to hospital, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police have not released her identity, pending notification of next of kin.
The male driver of the dump truck was not injured in the collision, which occurred near a bus stop on Navan Road.
Police want anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 613-236-1222, ext. 2481.
