Ottawa police have issued an arrest warrant for the co-founder of an Ottawa music festival who’s suspected of stealing $600,000.

Nickolas Guindon-Vachon was last seen at the Ottawa Stadium following the Escapade Music Festival around 5:15 a.m. Monday, according to police.

They said he was carrying a large box at the time and was seen getting into a white GMC Yukon, which they determined was a rental and was traced to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau airport in Montreal.

Montreal police checked for the 27-year-old suspect, but he was nowhere to be found.

Ottawa police are describing Guindon-Vachon as a white man, about five feet eight inches tall and weighing about 285 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He is wanted for theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Escapade was put on by DNA Presents, an Ottawa music company that Guindon-Vachon was also heavily involved with.

Other festival organizers said that missing money from things like alcohol sales was meant to pay some of the artists.

Anyone with information on Guindon-Vachon’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 613-236-1222 extension 5166 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477.
