Ontario Provincial Police have identified the three victims in Tuesday's horrific triple homicide in the Ottawa Valley.
Anastasia Kuzyk, 36, Nathalie Warmerdam, 48, and Carol Culleton, 66, were murdered in separate locations. 57-year-old Basil Borutski is facing three counts of first degree murder in connection with the deaths.
Johanna Zomers knew Kuzyk first as a server at the Wilno Tavern, then as her real estate agent.
"She was a bright young life that ended far too soon," says Zomers.
“She was a really friendly, lively, outgoing, cheerful, hard-working young woman. Everybody liked her and she did a really good job when she worked here and later selling real estate.”
Just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, OPP officers responded to an incident on Szczipior Rd. in Wilno. That's where they found the body of Kuzyk, who's from the town about 180 km from Ottawa.
After receiving information during the subsequent investigation, officers found the body of Warmardam, who was from Bonnechere Valley, at a residence on Foymont Rd.
Culleton, of North Gower, was found dead in a residence on Kamaniskeg Lake Road by officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the OPP around 11:10 Tuesday morning.
A few hours later, Ottawa police officers, with the help of the OPP helicopter, arrested Borutski in a wooded area at Becks and Kinburn Side Rd. near Kinburn. He'll appear in court in Pembroke on Wednesday afternoon.
Autopsies on all the victims are scheduled to take place in Ottawa on Wednesday.
Condolences have poured in from across the country for the victims, including from Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne.
