Environment Canada has ended a tornado warning for Gatineau, Ottawa north, Kanata, Orléans, Arnprior, Calabogie and Renfrew.
Weather specialists were tracking a severe thunderstorm they feared could have produced a tornado.
The storm path was moving eastward of Renfrew in the early afternoon at about 60 km/hr. Environment Canada said the thunderstorm was likely to produce damaging winds and large hail.
The situation was described as dangerous and life-threatening.
