Stunt driver arrested for colliding with multiple cars, fleeing police on Hwy. 401

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 29-year-old from Long Sault, Ont. after allegedly colliding with multiple vehicles without stopping on Highway 401 last week.

Police say the driver struck several cars while going westbound starting in Lees County towards the Kingston and Napanee areas on Dec. 13.

The driver refused to stop for police. Two OPP detachments and a police helicopter were involved.

The suspect was arrested after exiting the highway at Shannonville Road and entering a parking lot.

No injuries were reported.

The driver was charged with two counts of dangerous operation, careless driving, four counts of failure to stop after an accident, flight from a police officer and stunt driving.

The suspect was released to the custody of another police service on another matter.

The driver is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville in January and the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee in February.
