Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against two youth who allegedly shot at homes in South Frontenac Township with an airsoft pistol.

Police say witnesses reported seeing a black pick-up truck stopping at a resident on Ellergeck Road in the community of Harrowsmith, located 30 kilometres north of Kingston, at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday.

At least three people were seen in the vehicle with at least one of them shooting at the home before driving away.

OPP officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the truck.

Police then received a call at approximately 10:15 p.m. from a person in the nearby community of Inverary, who reported a black pick-up with a person inside shooting at a house before leaving the scene.

"Frontenac OPP members quickly located the vehicle and three individuals were arrested. A search of the vehicle located an air pistol that resembled a restricted handgun," OPP said.

Two individuals, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were charged with possession of imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose. A third youth was released without charges.

The suspects were released from custody and are set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston at a later date.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can be sent to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
