Chick-fil-A is set to open in the Rideau Centre next week, the second location in Ottawa.

The U.S.-based fast food chain announced the Chick-fil-A will open in the food court of the mall at 50 Rideau Street on Thursday, Jan. 9.

It will be open for dine-in at the food court and take-out from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Chick-fil-A restaurants are always closed on Sunday. The company says Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sundays to "give team members the opportunity to rest, enjoy time with their families and worship if they choose."

Chick-fil-A will employ approximately 70 to 100 full and part-time members at its Rideau Centre location.

The company says in honour of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $34,000 to a local non-profit organization through Second Harvest.

Ottawa's first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened at the Tanger Outlets on Palladium Drive on July 18.
