As the City of Ottawa welcomed 30,000 additional doses of H1N1 vaccine this weekend, special clinics took place Saturday for pregnant women at three Ottawa hospitals.

Victoria Lennox, 26 weeks pregnant with her second child, was one of the ones lining up for their shot.

"We just want to be safe," she says.

Around 6,000 expectant mothers live in Ottawa, and they've been marked as a priority group because they could get complications if they get H1N1.

The women got the choice of the normal vaccine, or a special adjuvenated type that takes out some of the less potent ingredients.

Clinics were held at the Riverside campus of the Ottawa Hospital, the Montfort Hospital and at the Bell Mews, Suite 100 on behalf of the Queensway-Carleton.

The additional 30,000 doses will keep clinics in the capital open for another three to four days, say health officials.
