KINGSTON, Ont. -- Provincial police have released the name of a man who was killed in an alleged hit-and-run while walking on the shoulder of a highway last week.

Investigators say the incident happened shortly after midnight on Friday in Kingston, Ont.

They say Charles Thistlethwaite, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene and no vehicle remained in the area.

Officers didn't say why the man was walking on the highway.

They're asking anyone with information about the collision to call police.
