Gatineau police have yet to make an arrest in the city's first homicide of the year.
A 26-year-old man is dead after being shot in the chest by a single bullet in the Hull sector Tuesday night.
Gatineau police were called to an apartment on Normand Street after receiving a report of a fight at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
When police arrived on scene, they found an unconscious man suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
His name has not yet been released.
Police say they've interviewed more than one dozen people during their investigation.
Autopsy results are scheduled for later this week.
