Ottawa Police have turned to YouTube to help catch a suspect accused of sexual assault.
The attack happened in March at 2600 Draper Avenue.
Police say a woman in her 20’s entered the apartment building at 5:00am and she was followed into the elevator by an unknown man. The man exposed himself and sexually assaulted her in the elevator. When the elevator doors opened, the woman broke free and ran towards an apartment. The man tried to enter but he fled the scene.
Investigators learned in November of a surveillance video capturing the attack.
The male suspect is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, in his 20’s, slim build, curly short black hair, dark eyes, with a beard. He was wearing dark jogging pants, dark sweater and baseball hat and he smelled of alcohol.
Police investigators believe the suspect may have a connection to the area or to the building.
