An Ottawa man is threatening legal action after his foot was apparently run over by an OC Transpo bus at a crosswalk near the Billings Bridge transit station.
Derek Beaupre told CTV Ottawa he was using a crosswalk on Bank Street, just east of the transit station late Tuesday morning, when a No. 8 Alta Vista bus tried to make a right turn, running over his foot in the process.
"I was about a third of the way into the crosswalk when this bus came sailing out of there," he said.
"I was bawling my eyes out because I was in so much pain."
Three small bones in Beaupre's foot are fractured. He is waiting to find out if anything is broken.
He says if he hadn't jumped out of the way, he believes his injuries could have been much worse.
Police are investigating the case, which is currently considered an accident with injuries. OC Transpo is also investigating. So far, no charges have been laid.
