More overcrowding in the Ottawa Hospital means the facility will have to cancel more elective surgeries next week, according to a release from the organization on Friday.
Just over a dozen elective surgeries will be cancelled on Monday and Tuesday, with administrators reviewing the situation on Wednesday to see if more need to be done.
It cancelled 65 surgeries this past week, bringing the total this year so far to 220.
The news comes just days after the hospital says it will have to undertake job cuts and freeze its budget to make sure it meets the provincial mandate to keep the books balanced.
The Queensway Carleton faced a similar overcrowding problem earlier this week but so far seem to have improved, cancelling only nine surgeries.
