Ontario provincial police are continuing to investigate after a collision on Highway 17 near Chalk River killed a 22-year-old Petawawa woman.
Police say Tya Lima lost control of the car she was driving, crossed the line, and struck a large transport truck heading east at about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Lima was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tanker truck, Richard Mekers, 42, of Sturgeon Falls, was not injured during the collision.
The crash closed a portion of Highway 17 at Fields Road near Chalk River for almost eight hours Wednesday.
Police say no charges will be laid.
