There are many options if you are looking to make plans to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Capital.

A new event in Ottawa this year on Sparks street is promising "A Times Square Experience". Admission is free and the party starts at 7pm.

Another party at the Convention Centre dubbed "Dancing in the Stars" features a 3 course dinner and live entertainment. The event has already sold-out.

There are still tickets for a Miami South Beach themed party starting at 8pm at the Westin Hotel. It features live entertainment. Tickets are $ 75.

If you are looking for more of a family friendly event then Ben Franklin Place in Nepean is holding its 20th annual free New Year’s Eve bash.

The Emerald City themed party begins at 6pm and includes skating, live music and much more.

The best part - it wraps up in time for you to put the kids to bed.

Ottawa City Councillor Rick Chiarelli says, “We have games, magic, everything leading to the fireworks and countdown to 10pm, which is midnight in Greenland."

OC Transpo is once again offering free transit service on New Year’s Eve after 8pm.
