Munter named new CEO of CHEO

A former Ottawa mayoral candidate and city councillor has been named the new president of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Alex Munter will replace Michel Bilodeau as chief executive officer and president of CHEO.

Besides holding elected office, Munter was formerly CEO of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network and executive director of the Youth Services Bureau.

He said his new job at CHEO is the "opportunity of a lifetime."
