A motorcyclist is in hospital in critical condition following a collision that closed westbound lanes of Highway 417 Monday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police say both the driver of a motorcycle and the driver of a car were injured when they collided near the Parkdale Avenue exit at about 3:45 p.m.
Ottawa paramedics say the motorcyclist sustained critical injuries to his abdomen, chest, arms and legs. He was transported to the Ottawa Hospital where he was listed in critical condition Monday afternoon.
Police say the left westbound lane of the highway is expected to remain closed until about 7 p.m. Lanes 2, 3 and 4 have all reopened.
Police continue to investigate.
