Ottawa police have charged a teenaged boy with sexual assault and breaking and entering after they say he entered eight rooms at a University of Ottawa residence.
Early Sunday morning, police responded to the Stanton Residence on the University of Ottawa Campus after a report of a male going room to room.
They say the suspect had entered eight rooms and tried to get into more than 50 rooms.
University of Ottawa security found a teenaged boy matching the suspect description on the 4th floor of the residence. He was later arrested by police.
The police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section have charged the Ottawa suspect with one count of sexual assault and one count of break and enter.
The suspect’s name will not be made public since he is a minor. He was released from custody on a promise to appear in court with conditions to protect the community.
