Ottawa was spared the brunt of a winter storm that dumped more than 12 centimetres of snow by the noon hour.
As of the noon hour, a snowfall warning was still in place for areas east of the capital.
City crews started plowing main streets just as the snow started falling Monday night,
The morning rush hour caused delays of up to two hours for commuters from Kanata and Barrhaven.
It was a much better ride on OC Transpo today compared to the late February storm.
'It was pretty busy on the buses for sure. Took a lot longer for the buses to come down. Probably took as twice as long today', said one OC Transpo passenger.
More than 200 buses got stuck in the snow in the last storm.
Ottawa Police report 44 collisions this morning, most of them minor. On average there are 50 collisions during a 24 hour period.
One viewer sent CTV Ottawa a photo of an OC Transo bus being towed.
Several flights at the Ottawa Airport were delayed or cancelled.
Camp Fortune ski hill in Gatineau has extended its night skiing for another week, until Friday, because of the snow. Co-owner Peter Sudermann says he expects the hill will be open to skiiers well into April.
CTV's JJ Clarke says the snow will taper later today.
Up to another 5 centimetres of snow is expected.
