Paramedics said a 38-year-old man was in life-threatening condition after being hit by a bus on the Transitway near downtown Ottawa Monday afternoon.
One report said the man was on a cellphone when he was hit, and another that he intentionally jumped in front of the bus on Lees Avenue near Campus station.
The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. and snarled traffic on the bus-only route during the rush hour.
However, city officials said the Transitway has since re-opened.
