Man and son wanted for skipping court in Peterborough, Ont., arrested in Quebec

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- A man and his teenaged son wanted by Peterborough, Ont., police on Canada-wide warrants have been arrested in Quebec.

Lawrence Prindible, 49, and Kurtis Prindible, 18, were arrested just south of Quebec City by Canadian National Railway police officers in Levis, Que.

It's alleged the two were illegally riding on a freight train, and police say they are being investigated for possession of an illegal firearm, and obstructing a peace officer by providing false names.

Lawrence Prindible disappeared in early April, just days before he was due in court on charges of attempted murder, forcible confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and sexual assault.

Lawrence Prindible's clothing and identification were found on the shore of Lake Ontario in Port Hope and his son was reported missing around the same time.

Peterborough police are working with Quebec authorities to finalize arrangements for the return of the two men to Peterborough.

  Prindible is described as about six feet tall, about 270 pounds, with a heavy build, short brown receding hair, possibly a moustache and beard, and blue eyes.
