Cold temperatures to arrive in Ottawa for first weekend of 2025
A cold first weekend of 2025 is in the forecast for Ottawa, which could be good news for people hoping for cold weather to help freeze the Rideau Canal Skateway.
Environment Canada's forecast calls for temperatures to drop to -16 C Friday night and -19 C Saturday night, and temperatures to hover around seasonal over the next week.
The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -6 C and a low of -15 C.

Periods of light snow will end this morning then mainly cloudy today with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. Temperature steady near -1 C.
