Prices for gasoline went down about two cents per litre in Ottawa overnight.

Prices in the Capital were hovering at about $1.08 per litre of regular gasoline Friday morning.

One station on Eagleson Road was charging $1.03 per litre.

Prices on the Quebec side, however, remained high and many stations were charging $1.12 per litre.

Gas prices jumped across the country Wednesday, following a day that saw crude oil prices close above US$100 per barrel.

In Ottawa, the price for gasoline at one gas station reached $1.173 per litre.
