Assault rifles and banned ammunition were among the items seized by police during a raid Thursday.

Guns and gangs section officers descended on a residence in the 500-block of Brittany Drive with a search warrant. Inside they found AK-47 and Norico SKS assault rifles along with the prohibited magazines and applicable ammo.

Four Ottawa residents have been charged with 17 weapons-related offences: Raymond Lalonde, 46; Suzanne Trudel, 44; Sean Phillip, 28; and Anthony Guertin, 22.

Guertin was also charged with five counts of possession of firearms, ammunition, and prohibited devices while prohibited to do so. Phillip was also charged with breach of probation.

All four suspects appeared in court on Friday.
