Health care workers around the region are logging days of overtime and skipping time off to get swine flu vaccinations out as fast as possible -- a phenomenon that Ottawa's chief health officer says should not go unnoticed.

"This could not have been accomplished without the dedication and tireless efforts of many, many individuals," says Isra Levy, "who have thrown themselves into the task.

"That has made me . . . very proud."

Among those people is Sandi Feltham, who has worked three times this past week on top of her full-time nursing job.

"I was in a muscle spasm from that arm going the whole time, so I was definitely pooped out and ready for a nice hot bath at the end of it all, for sure."

Coun. Bob Monette says the military should be sending extra medical help to give the vaccine workers a boost, at least until most of the population is innoculated.
