One person has died after a major crash between a tractor-trailer and a car on highway 17 in the Cobden area Wednesday morning.
Chief Michael Nolan with Renfrew County Paramedics says 51-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla eastbound was killed in the crash. His identity has not been released.
It happened shortly after 10 a.m.
The driver of the transport truck, a man in his 30s, was treated on scene for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
OPP closed the highway between Chenaux Rd. and Forresters Falls Rd. in the Whitewater Region Township to investigate the crash. Traffic detours were in place.
