A freezing rain warning has been issued for Ottawa and surrounding areas by weather officials at Environment Canada.
It is expected freezing rain could last a total period of three to six hours. There is no firm start time; however, it is expected to hit later Sunday afternoon or night.
The forecast suggests areas beyond Ottawa, like Cornwall, can expect a few centimetres of snow before freezing rain arrives Sunday evening.
Ottawa is expected to see up to 5 centimetres of snow.
Drivers are being warned to take necessary precautions. Roads can become slick in a matter of minutes.
